Yes it is. Make no mistake and give Reforged credit for what old Wacraft 3 offered. Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne were always great games, otherwise people wouldn't play them 17 years after release. But when you play the campaign, or multiplayer, thats not Reforged.

A lot of work had been done by HotS team in the Alterac scenario: All units still look modern and easily distinguishable. I understand that hit boxes and units blocking work differently between the two games, but we could argue about how much development time would require to simulate warcraft’s units behaviour in HotS (and SCII) engine.
When WC3: Reforged is launched, I bet thats when there might be bigger chance to get players against you that are not so experienced, but ofc there are also going to be many former veterans/players like me who know and remember the basics and thus as complete newbie you might get some tougher opponents in some cases.

You’d be better served waiting to make any such requests and wanting more people to play this game until Blizzard junks their stupid Battle.net DRM, restores EVERY feature Reforged cut that the original game had, and starts generally being a frakking half-decent company again. CaptainJack-11336.
People never entirely stopped playing the original Warcraft III, so when you think about it, a remastered version feels long overdue. In some respects, Warcraft III: Reforged does a serviceable job of fulfilling that need. In others, it's a bit - dare I say - underforged. In further respects still, some people might wish it had never happened.

And to be honest, Warcraft III Patch 1.31 has most of the problems that I just cited in Reforged already added to it. So there was that patch that was basically Reforged, but it still looked like the old 2002 Reign of Chaos in the menus and in the way the modding technologies worked. And I did not hear nearly as many people complain about that
This isn’t the first time we’ve had to make tough choices like this.
