The filter ring is 77mm, which is the same as found on the Nikon Z 20mm f/1.8, Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S, and Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lenses. Any of these would pair well with the 24-120mm f/4 S, allowing you to share filters across lenses if you want. On any other Nikon Z lenses, however, you’ll need separate filters for each lens.

Compared to the other brand’s 24-70mm zooms, the original Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 ED AF-S wasn’t quite as good at the outer part of the frame, and just wasn’t as good at 70mm.
