Yes, thermostat is sticking, replace it. If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes.
Symptoms: -Temperature is uniform all across the face vents(2 in each front door, 2 on dash) with the rotating temp selector set on COOL(3 blue dots) and the AC OFF. I.E. 60 degrees outside, AC off, temp selector on blue - get about 60-65 deg F air coming out of all vents. -Turn AC ON and the driver's side door vent gets cold, and every vent to BMW Models. Put your hand on hose going into fire wall on pass side.bIt should be kinda cool after the valve. If not well there ya go.
A/C not working Temporarily My 2006 330xi has been doing this for years. After about 40 minutes of continual use, the volume of air starts decreasing and then eventually stops blowing cold air. Just a moderate amount of cool but not cold air. On a hot day this sucks. But then after about 10 minutes it starts up again like nothing was ever wrong.
