I bought This seed chip on ebay. this resistor connects to the car's ECU by replacing the Intake Airflow Temperature (IAT) Sensor. Once the resistor is installed, the ECU will read that the air coming in is 36 °F (10k resistor = 36 °F) think of it as a "default" setting on the ECU. Engine and crank TDC marks were aligned, cam blocks installed and flush, and the flywheel pin was in while setting the timing. I put in new cams and needed to adjust the exhaust cam slightly to get the cam blocks to sit properly on the head. Begin the process for both E30 and E36 cars by jacking up the car and removing both front road wheels (see Project 1). E36 owners should read the following E30 section and then the subsequent E36 section, as there are elements of the strut disassembly process that are not specifically mentioned in the E36 section below.
